Building Better Youth, Better Businesses and a Better South Carolina

"THE PROGRAM"

Today's Youth will be Tomorrow's Leaders.

Businesses are encouraged to look within their existing customer base and seek to find a young person who is not related to any member of

their staff. The business should reach out to

the guardian of the young person and ask them

if the young person can be a part of the shadow internship at the business location.

This is a key step in cementing that your business has a commitment to the community it serves.

* The business can also make sure the young person is a good fit for their business.

Once the guardian agrees to the shadowing at your business location, we ask that the business contacts our office.

Benefits:  Your business will get a link on our newsletter that is broadcasted every month for 12 months and placement on our website on the BLYA Partner page. The BLYA Partner page contains your business name, telephone number, city location, and a description of the services you provide. The young person (ages 8-17) who participates in the BLYA job Shadow will receive a  stipend up to $125.00 (One Hundred and Twenty-Five dollars) based on participation.

Also, BLYA will use our Twitter and/or Facebook [Social Networking] pages to promote your business a maximum of 10 times during the term your office host a BLYA job shadow.

Your business will receive a special letter of appreciation, and the local newspaper editor/ news channels will receive a press release about your commitment to the young people of your community. Additional rewards for promoting your business will be discussed with you.
